Frequently Asked Questions about our Pet Fencing
How does Pet Stop differ from Invisible Fence® and other companies?
No other system can match the range of customizable features and expert training we offer – because we’ve patented them! Our dealers provide the best hands-on training. Our patented features, combined with our highly customizable systems and GentleSteps training program gives Pet Stop the highest containment rating in the industry at 99.6%.
Unlike our competitor’s systems that are likely to leave blind spots and holes, Pet Stop’s Tri-scann™ Omni-directional Antenna offers a full 360° of protection for your pets, ensuring that they remain safe in your yard no matter where the collar is on their neck. Founded in 1992, our company is managed by a team of industry pioneers with over 60 years of combined experience. They are the guys that founded Invisible Fence™
Do you offer indoor systems?
Yes. Our indoor system is just as effective as our outdoor electronic fence system. Once plugged in, you can set the range of correction distance your pet can go. And, just like outside we use boundary flags to train inside. The flags stay up about 2 weeks and then they are removed but your pet still knows that invisible boundary line. These systems can be purchased separately without the outdoor fence system. The Indoor Containment System can keep your pet in or out of a room or area. Training your pet to this system is very easy and works almost immediately
How do your warranty policies work?
When you buy into a Pet Stop system, we are confident you’re purchasing the best containment system on the market. This belief in the effectiveness of our products makes it possible for us to offer a lifetime warranty on our Ultra Elite system, as well as to issue the following guarantee: If you can find a more advanced pet fence system than Pet Stop, we’ll buy it for you. Period.
How is Pet Stop different from the self-installed systems available?
There are several critical differences. The first is the initial training your pet receives from our dealer. Incorrect training makes for disappointing results and even more important reason is that not all training is permanent. Over time, your pets can become accustomed to their system, which can lead to a breakdown in their controlled boundaries. Pet Stop will always be here for you if you ever need additional advice or training. Second is the superior technology in our transmitters and receivers. No other system is going to offer you the wide variety of choices in settings you might need to contain your pet. And lastly we deliver a top notch professional installation assuring you years of hassle free enjoyment of your new system.
How reliable are Pet Stop’s dealers?
Each dealer carries insurance and employs only trained personnel representatives who are always there when you need them. Our service is always prompt and efficient.
Does the correction hurt?
Like you, we love pets. All pets! The last thing we’d ever want to do is harm them. Our focus is keeping them safe, not hurting them. Clinical research tests have been conducted over the course of many years, with results proving that this type of correction is harmless. Our system is designed with your pet’s comfort in mind, and the correction techniques we utilize work as a “startling effect” rather than inflicting any sort of pain.
My dog is stubborn; does the system work on all breeds?
Yes, Pet Stop has the exclusive “No Run Thru” receivers made especially for those tough, stubborn breeds. That’s why many people call us to come out and contain their dog after the other companies have failed . Our collars will work with any other professionally installed system like Invisible Fence™, Dog Watch™, Petsafe™ and Dog Guard™ so no need to purchase another complete system. Just a receiver collar and our trainers will have your dog contained where other have failed. We guarantee it or your money back!
Does Pet Stop work with cats?
Most definitely. We are proud to have one of the most effective systems on the market for cats as well as dogs. Sure, electronic fence systems were originally designed with dogs in mind, but our feline containment program is very successful, especially in establishing cat-free zones within the home.
Can Pet Stop handle multiple pets and containment needs?
Sure, we can! We can handle multiple pets with customized settings for each one.
How do I take my pet outside the boundary?
Your local Pet Stop dealer will instruct you on how to effectively take your pet on a venture outside your property’s containment area, but this is best done only after your pet is properly acclimated to their new boundaries at home.
Are the receivers programmable to fit my animal’s weight, size, and temperament?
We study pets constantly. The Pet Stop pet fence system contains many customized settings tailored to accommodate every kind of pet and personality.
What’s the difference between AM/FM and a DM signal?
Most systems use an AM or FM radio wave frequency and operate the same way regardless of the type of signal. Pet Stop features FCC-approved Digital Modulation-or DM-technology. This method is much clearer and has been proven as the most effective way to guard against false activation and interference from other signals. Additionally, we are the only pet fence company that carries this technology.
How long does the battery last, and where can I get one?
Battery life depends on how frequently your pet attempts to disobey the system. In most cases, the battery lasts from six months to a year. The average dog gets about 8/9 months of battery life. Of course, when the battery runs low,Pet Stop’s Flash Alert® lets you know when it needs replacing, and your first year of batteries is on us—no matter what. New batteries are just a quick phone call away and are usually delivered to your mail box within 2/3 days.
Do you offer a battery backup system for your transmitters?
Yes, we do. Power outages do happen and frequently in Florida. Backup plans are always a good idea. Our battery back up will run your system for several hours at a time or up to 4 days. And when the power does come back on the battery will recharge itself to be sure it is ready for the next power outage. Be sure to ask your local Pet Stop dealer for more details about how you can set up a self-sufficient backup transmitter in the event that your primary one should unexpectedly lose power.
